Stonecutter Ventures LLC is a private equity investment management company formed by Samuel Cole, Scott Zucker and Robert Kunzweiler. Mr. Cole is an operator/investor with deep experience at the intersection of finance, operations and technology. Messrs. Zucker and Kunzweiler are also the Principals of Stonecutter Capital Management LLC, a real estate investment management company started in 2012. The Principals’ combination of operational, technology, and real estate expertise is unique. Their broad knowledge and extensive contacts add value beyond the sum invested.

Samuel Cole is a Principal and co-founder of Stonecutter Ventures. Mr. Cole has seeded over ten companies across fintech, defense technology, and manufacturing/robotics. He founded two early stage technology companies. Previously, Mr. Cole served as Executive Vice President and Deputy Head of eExchange, a technology subsidiary of State Street Bank providing advanced trading solutions to global clients in the foreign currency, interest rate, and derivative markets. From 2004 to 2011, Mr. Cole was the Chief Operating Officer and a Managing Principal at BlueMountain Capital Management LLC. Mr. Cole was an Associate Principal in the Financial Institutions Group of McKinsey & Co. for nearly six years. He also worked as an analyst for Global Partner Ventures in the former Soviet Union supporting projects to commercialize Russian defense technologies. Mr. Cole holds an M.B.A from MIT (Sloan School of Management), an M.A. from the Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy at Tufts University, and a B.A. in Government with Honors from Harvard University.

Scott Zucker is a Principal and co-founder of Stonecutter Ventures and Stonecutter Capital. Prior to founding Stonecutter Capital, Mr. Zucker worked at CDC Capital Markets and its successor organizations, IXIS and Natixis. Mr. Zucker was instrumental in growing the U.S. commercial real estate business from its founding to nearly $5 billion in annual loan originations with 65 employees in four offices. Mr. Zucker ultimately served as the Co-Head of the business group. Prior to joining CDC, Mr. Zucker worked on large loan origination at Nomura Asset Capital Corporation. Mr. Zucker began his career at Kaye Scholer, where he worked for nine years specializing in real estate, bankruptcy and reorganizations. He holds a B.A. in Economics and History from Emory University, and a J.D. from the Northwestern University Law School.

Robert Kunzweiler is a Principal and co-founder of Stonecutter Ventures and Stonecutter Capital. Prior to founding Stonecutter Capital, Mr. Kunzweiler worked at CDC Capital Markets and its successor organizations, IXIS and Natixis. He was focused on the origination, structuring and underwriting of complex real estate transactions for the bank’s principal operation as well as for execution in the capital markets. Mr. Kunzweiler ultimately served as the Managing Director heading Natixis’ mid-west regional office. Previously, Mr. Kunzweiler held a position in Fitch Ratings’ commercial mortgage backed securities group. He graduated from Columbia University with a B.A. in Economics.
